Students are invited to a workshop on "Do It Yourself" art documentation using materials you might have at home. We will problem-solve issues of lighting, framing, scale, detail, and more, and we will also consider instances in which documentation itself becomes the art. MAX BOWENS, currently a graduate student in Film and Visual Studies, will offer a workshop for undergraduates on his experiences getting into the world of feature film production. The format will be casual and open—students are encouraged to come with questions. Prior to joining the AFVS Department, Max worked as an editor, sound recordist, and assistant cameraperson for directors such as Terrence Malick, Amiel Courtin-Wilson, Matt Porterfield, and Crystal Moselle.
