 

#  Karthik Pandian named recipient of 2022 Creative Capital Award

 AFVS faculty member Karthik Pandian has been awarded a [2022 Creative Capital Award](https://creative-capital.org/award/awardees/2022/) for his project [Lucid Decapitation](https://creative-capital.org/projects/lucid-decapitation/), produced in collaboration with Mike Forcia and an ensemble of Twin Cities-based musicians, dancers, media workers, and activists.

 From the Creative Capital [website](https://creative-capital.org/2022/01/12/the-2022-creative-capital-awards/): "Creative Capital today announced Creative Capital Awards for 2022 totaling $2.5 million in artist support. The grants will fund the creation of 50 new artists’ projects by 59 individual artists working in the performing arts, visual arts, film, technology, literature, and socially engaged and multidisciplinary practices. Each project will receive up to $50,000 in direct funding, supplemented by career development and networking services to foster thriving artistic careers."
