 

#  Spring 2018 Open Studios, Thesis Exhibition, and Student Film Screenings

 **The Department of Visual and Environmental Studies Presents:**

 **2018 Senior Thesis Exhibition Interface: Friday, April 27 through Friday, May 24**

 **Spring 2018 Open Studios: Friday, April 27 from 5 to 7 pm**

 **Student Film Screenings: Wednesday, April 25 through Saturday, April 28 beginning at 7 pm**

 The Department of Visual and Environmental Studies (VES) is holding the opening reception for the 2018 **Senior Thesis Exhibition,** [Interface](https://carpenter.center/program/visual-and-environmental-studies-2018-senior-thesis-interface)*.* Work will be displayed in the Carpenter Center Level 1 and Sert Gallery with the opening reception beginning at 5 pm on April 27.

 **Spring 2018 Open Studios** will start at 5 pm in the Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts. Students will present their work from the following VES courses: *Drawing 1*: *Anyone Can Draw; Lay of the Land: A Studio-based Seminar; Introduction to Still Photography; Drawing 2: Expanded Visual Thinking; Invented Mediums: Painting Course; Object Matter of Jelly Fish: Sculpture Course; Where the Wild Things Are: Intermediate Photography Course; Vertical Cinema; Directed Research; Critical Printing; Fundamentals of Animation; Intermediate Animation: Making an Animated Film.*

 **Student Film Screenings** will be shown in the Lecture Hall starting at 7 pm (Wednesday through Saturday) Students will present their work from the following VES courses: *Introduction to Non Fiction Filmmaking; Introduction to Non Fiction Videomaking; Fundamentals of Animation; Introduction to Narrative Filmmaking; The Essay Film; Intermediate Animation: Making and Animated Film; Critical Media Practice.*
