DESCRIPTION:<p align="center"><strong>The Department of Visual and Environmental Studies <br></strong><strong style="font-size: initial;">presents </strong></p><p align="center"><strong style="font-size: initial;">2016 Senior Thesis Exhibit</strong><strong style="font-size: initial;"> and VES Open Studios<br></strong>Friday, April 29<br>(Beginning at 4pm in Linden Studios and 5pm in the Carpenter Center)</p><p align="center"></p><p align="center"></p><p style="text-align: center;"><strong>and </strong><strong style="font-size: initial;">VES Student Screenings</strong> <br>Thursday, April 28 – Saturday, April 30</p><p>The Department of Visual and Environmental Studies (VES) is holding the opening reception for VES 2016 Senior Thesis Exhibition, <em style="font-size: initial;"><a href="http://ccva.fas.harvard.edu/ves-2016-senior-thesis-fabricated-normally">Fabricated, Normally</a></em> with works by <strong style="font-size: initial;">Lydia Burns, C.H. Choi, Daniel Citron, Alistair Debling, and Renee Zhan</strong>. Work will be displayed in both the Sert Gallery and in the Carpenter Center level one with the opening reception beginning at 5pm on April 29<sup>th</sup>.</p><p>VES Spring Open Studios will run in both the Linden Street Studios starting at 4:00 pm and throughout the Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Student work on display comes from the following courses; <em style="font-size: initial;">Paper Always Talks a Lot: Drawing as Object; Conceptual Figure; Material Histories: Advanced Sculpture; Introduction to Still Photography; Contemporary Painting Practice: Beyond the Surface; Intermediate Animation: Making an Animated Film; Post Brush; In and Out of Actions: An Intro to Performance Art; Fundamentals of Animation; The Devil Probably x10+1; Directed Research; Sensory Ethnography 1; New Waves; Sophomore Tutorial; Photographic Inquiry; </em><em style="font-size: initial;">Conceptual Strategies in Photography; Filming Science; the Art of Film; and Visual Music.</em></p><p>VES Student Screenings will showcase<strong style="font-size: initial;"> </strong>moving-image works produced by spring semester students in the Department of Visual and Environmental Studies, including senior thesis projects by <strong style="font-size: initial;">Elizabeth Choi, Dario Guerrero, Lance Katigbak, Danielle Lessard, Max McGillivray, and Kendra Justine McLaughlin</strong>. It offers courses in painting, drawing, sculpture, film, video, and animation, as well as photography, film history, the built environment, and contemporary art.
