DESCRIPTION:<p>Critic and filmmaker (<em>Transformers: The Premake</em>) Kevin B. Lee, one of the foremost practitioners of videographer criticism, joins us to talk about video essays. Lee has, in the past 8 years, produced more than 100 short video essays on cinema and television. He is the founding editor and chief video essayist for <a href="http://fandor.com/keyframe" data-url="http://fandor.com/keyframe">Fandor’s Keyframe</a><em> </em>as well as editor for IndieWire’s <a href="http://blogs.indiewire.com/pressplay" data-url="http://blogs.indiewire.com/pressplay">Press Play blog</a> and his work has appeared in a range of publications from <em>Sight &amp; Sound </em>to <em>The New York Times</em>, which has dubbed him the “King of the Video Essays." Lee will show a range of his own work and discuss the range, scope, and possibilities of video-based film criticism.
