Luise Mörke's academic work revolves around the relation between aesthetic forms and global capitalism, specifically in post-reunification Germany. Before joining Harvard’s Department of Art, Film, and Visual Studies as a PhD student, she studied Art History and Classical Archaeology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, UC Berkeley, École Normale Supérieure, and École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris.

Luise is a frequent contributor of essays, interviews, and criticism to anglophone and german publications. She is an affiliate of Harvard’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, a member of aica, and the 2025/26 graduate curatorial intern in the Division of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Harvard Art Museums.
