Film & Visual Studies 2020 Graduate Student Conference: (Im)possibility

 

Organized by the graduate students in Film and Visual Studies at Harvard University, (Im)possibility is a virtual conference tracing the limits and occlusions of representation, visibility, and theory. The conference begins at 6:00pm EST on October 8, 2020 with a virtual screening of Ja’Tovia Gary’s film The Giverny Document (Single Channel) (2019). The screening will be immediately followed at 7:00pm EST by a keynote conversation between Gary and Frank B. Wilderson III. Registration for the keynote event is available here.

Throughout the day on October 9 and 10, conference proceedings will bring together scholars and practitioners working across film and media studies, visual culture, and Black studies; see the schedule for details and Zoom registration links. 

The Giverny Document will be freely available for streaming throughout the duration of the conference here.
