Julia Sharpe
Julia Sharpe is a maker, writer and graduate student in the Film and Visual Studies Department. Focusing on the poetic and haptic as mechanisms for destabilizing the (historicized) syntax of everyday life, her work employs derived research to explore a provisional landscape/narrative.

Her moving images and immersive installations plumb the relationship between seeing and feeling that emerges in affected, affective environments. Julia holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2018) and a BA from the University of Virginia (2012). She lives and works in Richmond VA and Cambridge, MA.

Teaching Fellow for AFVS 99A: Tutorial - Senior Year (Lemieux) and AFVS 194: David Lynch and the American Imaginary (Lim), Fall 2022.
